The Perfect Body by Victoria’s Secret

It’s hard to be a woman nowadays. We have so many digital manipulations that create a kind of unrealistic body, where even the photographed people do not look like the picture. The first time I worked in a fashion show (or even for a fashion editorial ) when the model arrived , I was shocked. Messy hair, bad skin , dark circles around her eyes … I thought, I’m better than her. After the makeup girl was incredible beautiful , after the digital edition she was a goddess. Do not forget, this is true for me and for you too. I will use as an example one model who worked for Hugo Boss last season here in New York , Vera van Erp . I separated Vera’s photos in three conditions; (1) Very produced (and possibly digitally manipulated) for Elle magazine, (2) catwalk photos, she have had her makeup and hair done, but the pictures have not been edited and (3) finally pictures of the model on the street , probably more ” natural “.

1. Magazine

2. Runway

3. Street

Is she look the same person?  I am not saying that Vera is ugly, she is pretty beautiful. I saw her in person and she is hot. However, she is a skinny girl , beautiful , tall, young, like the most of successful models. She worked not only in the New York Fashion Week. She traveled to London , Milan and Paris. When we see how a model really is, like the latest photos on the street, we realized that she is a normal woman, and we can breathe relieved !
All this introduction just to comment on two details that were shaking the fashion world last month. Actually, it bellows more to the graphic designers worlds than anything else. The Victoria’s Secret released an unfinished picture. See below if you can find three mistakes .

Well, if you notice that, she has only one cheek, the other side (the left ) is flat butt. Another detail in this region is the thickness of her leg. A thigh ( the left side) has a curved more than the right side , leaving a little thicker thigh. On the right arm elbow scratching was understated, compares with the left arm!

I made a overlap in the right leg, you can see a small shadow that bellows to the left leg. What shocks me is a designer for this sizebrand like VS , which spends millions and millions on advertising, drop a photo ” not finished “. Don’t they have auditor? Because everyone knows that they change the pictures like crazy. 😉

But that’s not all about the last weeks! Demi Lovato appeared in an essay for a magazine NUA . So far so good , but she said ( and publication too) the photos did not have Photoshop retouching , besides, Demi did not use makeup. Oh, really?

About not using makeup , a good professional photographer can hide almost all skin imperfections, dark circles, cellulite with lighting. I had been photographed in this situation and I was impressed! So, it was nothing so fantastic in beauty question… but someone shared the supposed original photos of Demi Lovato:

What is true ? To help you decide , I put a picture of Demi Lovato in a concert and yhr famous nude photo ” without manipulation . “

Nothing against being chubby, have round or straight ass. However, with the amount of corrections that you can make today, there is a standard of beauty bordering on perfection which belongs neither the person photographed . Send it to your boyfriend (or husband) to the next time he dare to compare you with that cover . 😉

Bra Development and Design at Fit

I just finished SXL 200 Bra Development and Design with Camille Block. She is a famous lingerie designer living here in New York. The course has six class, and in each class she had invited a different guest to make the class richer and more interesting. This course is a great opportunity for networking, because we have known a lot of great professionals.

In the last day of class, we had to give her a final project, very simple, just to be graded. Camille is a very well educated person with a soft voice and red lipsticks. For me this course was exceptional for one particularly side. I had not known how to buy bras in New York. In Brazil it was very easy to me. I used to buy 42 or medium sized. There we do not have cup sizes. When I said it at class everyone looked at me like if I was a little devil. A professional bra development said that if there is no pad it is possible doing bra without cup number, but we have pads. However I realized the pads in Brazil are a little different.

I have noticed that the pads in Brazil are flatter and here in New York they look like a cup. I had taken some photos of my bras, both of them fit me perfectly. Of course, with American style I am more powerful and beautiful.

Here we bou bras looking two measurements, first is the under boobs size. It can be 32,34, 36… this is your real size in inches. In addiction, they check your boobs size, each inch difference between your under boobs and your boobs you have a cup size, they called it with letter like A, B, C, D… I am a normal girl (not fat, not skinny) with small boobs, my size is 34A. If you had problem to figure your size out, you might go to Victoria’s Secret, there the seller person has a metric take and will do the job to you. On the other hand, I would prefer buying Calvin Klein bras. Do you have any preference? I am new here, I love to know your favorite bra!

MET Ball | My Considerations

Para ler em português, clique aqui.

I am not Anna Wintour. Actually, I have been living here for short tim, probably my opinion does not count do much. Last year I went to see famous people leaving the MET, after the MET Ball. I was in the other side of the street, separated from famous by a fence. In that moment, I thought I would never criticize any dress after a stupid personal opinion. The famous women are so beautiful and skinny, like the models. I bet they were preparing during moths for this event. The dresses are flowing and do not compared to anything sold in Century 21, my shopping Meca. The smiles were white and large. Each movement we could see a flash. They did not walk, they floating. In this magic moment I felt silly for ridiculed a person who is happy, famous and well succeed. Most of us will never belong to this select group. My opinion is just my opinion, they will continue happy with or without it.

I have been reading a lot of websites talking about the last Met Gala (or also called Met Ball). To be honest, I do not like to do review about looks, because there are many blogs doing the same. However, I have to say one important thing; this event has a theme annually, in other words, the guests must wear gala costumes. The theme of this year was “China: Through the Looking Glass”.

Of course, it reminds me the Lewis Carroll’s book “Throught the Looking Glass” (the second part of the famous “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”(?)) mixed with Traditional China’s Fashion.

After my research on the internet, I found some references about fashion in China. Let’s see the most commented outfits of last Monday?

Of course, Lady Gaga is on the list. She is always so controversy because excesses, but this time she was more restrained, dressing a Balenciaga dress, that was designed by Alexander Wang. She also wore a super boot with a lot of glitter. However the blog Fashionista said Gaga was wrong, because kimono comes from Japan. Sure! Kimono is typical clothing from Japan. I agree with this without thinking, but for me, Gaga was wearing a typical outfit from China. I am putting some images of references here, so you can decide it with me.

Theses dresses above are Chinese dresses called called qipao or cheongsam. I think Lady Gaga is closer to this. Below we have kimonos from Japan.

What do you think?

Many people have criticized Rihanna dress. What is the problem? I saw a lot of memes comparing it with egg, pizza or Sponge Bob.

The dress was designed by Guo Pei. Is it out of the dress code? For me it was very clear, the theme was a mix between China and crazy wonderland!

The photos above are of fashion shows in China, and Riri nailed it, you like it or not!.

I have realized that fashion bloggers, journalists and the public in general have difficult to understand the dress code when the event is more playful! It is like a costume party, but more elegant! There is nothing complex to get it.

 😦

Sarah Jéssica Parker was with a crown designed by Philip Treacy and a dress from vestido H&M developed to MET Ball. Rihanna and Sarah Jessica won the o trophy of the most ridiculous!

I did not like these dresses:

Jannifer Lopes had a Chinese dragon gown, she and Kim Kardashian and Beyonce were almost naked! The last two were outside of the theme. These girls are famous and I think they do not have to do it to appear. For me, this vulgarity is more about ego.

I really liked Amal Clooney’s dress. The color, the layers, insede of China without being loaded. She won that night! Amal wore John Galliano for Maison Margiela Couture. Other girls who did homework:

Rita Ora withTom Ford. Irina Shayk wore Atelier Versace. Karolina Kurkova with Tommy Hilfiger.
